Tattoo Artist Guest Spots in Auburn, CA

We love hosting guest artists from near and far. Whether you’re passing through Northern California or intentionally booking time in Auburn, The Mothership Tattoo Collective is an eco-friendly, inclusive, women-owned tattoo shop and art gallery built on community, respect, and good vibes.

Our goal is simple: make your guest spot feel supported, organized, and creatively inspiring—so you can focus on doing your best work.

Address: 895 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA 95603
Street parking is available directly in front of the shop, with additional longer-term parking options around the corner. Auburn’s historic downtown is walkable, charming, and full of good food and coffee within minutes of the studio.

Booking Requirements

To ensure a smooth and professional experience for everyone, guest artists must provide:

  • Proof of Bloodborne Pathogens Certification

  • Proof of a valid tattoo license

  • Guest spot dates requested at least 30 days in advance

Guest Spot Rates

Choose the option that works best for you:

  • Daily Rate: $150 per full working day

  • Percentage Split: 70/30 (artist keeps 70%, shop receives 30%)

Payment is due at the end of each working day and can be made via cash or Zelle.

Discounted rates for Cultural Practitioners on case-by-case basis.

What We Provide

We aim to keep things easy and eco-conscious. The Mothership provides:

  • Biodegradable disposable barriers, gloves, bottle bags, and station covers

  • Cleaners and disinfectants

  • Biodegradable ink caps, razors, and pen-style machine covers

  • Distilled water

  • Fully equipped station including client chair, artist stool, tray, and toolbox

You bring:

  • Machines and power supplies

  • Ink

  • Needles or cartridges

  • Aftercare products

Studio Amenities

  • Drawing table

  • Light box

  • Refrigerator stocked with complimentary sparkling water and small snacks

Shop Policies

  • All clients must be 18+ with valid ID and sign the shop release form

  • Artists must complete a needle lot number form for every tattoo

  • Maintain a clean station and follow all local health regulations

  • Respect shared space, supplies, and fellow artists

  • Food is welcome in the lobby area only (not in procedure areas)
